Spring is HERE!  We have DEFINITELY noticed that Spring is here at GVMS and want to stress that attendance is still important!  While we historically have noticed that attendance starts to decline in April, we truly want to stress that being at GVMS daily is very important!  Take a look at THIS ARTICLE for data, information, and reasons why attending daily is still very important!  Plus, we are ALWAYS happy to see our kids!

Have you sent in your Color Run participation sheet?  This is going to be a great family event!  Don't miss out on this SUPER fun event!   Flyers went home and can be found on our website!  They were due today, however, if you still have one and want to join the fun, PLEASE send it in when we return from Spring Break on April 3, 2018!!

The SPRING FLING IS COMING!!  We are gearing up for our 4th Annual Spring Fling at GV Cellars on Saturday, April 28 from 4-8 PM and WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Do you have connections for tickets to sporting events, time shares, winery tours, limo tours, etc?  Tickets will be on sale FEBRUARY 1st for $25.00 and the Sign Up Genius has gone out!  Click HERE to see if you can donate! Every day at GVMS, we mention being nice/saying kind words/being polite/doing the right thing DAILY to remind our Vikings that we are all here together!  Sometimes, that can be much more difficult than anticipated.  We have been able to use the resources from THIS LINK to help us and wanted to share them with you all as well!

Every SINGLE day, over our loud speakers, we make lots of announcements to our students.  These include: events coming up, clubs to join, sports activities, grading windows, and more.  PLEASE make sure that you all, at home, bookmark this page HERE so that YOU don't miss out on what's happening at GVMS!  We have a LOT of exciting activities coming up that you won't want your student (or YOU!) to miss out on!

Additionally, we review our school rules.  EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Including keeping our hands to ourselves and no play fighting/slap boxing.  PLEASE encourage your student to follow our school rules!!

We know that many of our students are talking about the national school walk out on March 14.  We are currently meeting with student council and student leadership to discuss ideas on how students can get involved in ways that do not violate school rules and board policy.  The specific board policy on student disturbances can be found here.

We have met with interested students, Leadership and our Student Council.  We have explained that leaving class at 10 AM will be considered a cut on their attendance and they will get a call home.  Leadership is organizing a lunch time activity in place of walking out of class so that interested students can sign letters, make posters, etc.

We continue to be very concerned about the amount of students that are dropped off at school in the morning (sometimes before 7 AM!!) and then choosing to WALK to Tower Mart.  This is extremely unsafe and we cannot chase after them to have them return to school.  Please remind your student NOT to do this!
