We strive to encourage students to be kind and care about one another, which can be quite a challenge in middle school and beyond. We remind students DAILY on the loud speaker, have words of kindness posted all over campus and distribute Good News Referrals and Pride Cards for this as well as often as possible.
Random Act of Kindness Day is February 17 and, while we are not on campus, there are ways that we can all encourage kindness all the time! Take a look at THIS ARTICLE to help encourage this at home as well!
Every day at GVMS, we mention being nice/saying kind words/being polite/doing the right thing DAILY to remind our Vikings that we are all here together! Sometimes, that can be much more difficult than anticipated. February has been ESPECIALLY hard this school year. We have been able to use the resources from THIS LINK to help us and wanted to share them with you all as well!
We have had several parents ask for additional resources, outside of GVMS, to support parenting their students. We are glad you asked! There are many resources on the Sullivan Inter agency Youth Services Center that can be used, including Parent Project from the FFPD! Take a look and get signed up!
We have analyzed our MAP data and we will be hosting a MAP celebration on Tuesday, February 18 during tutorial! CONGRATS to those that made growth or are on grade level in English and/or Math! We have HUNDREDS of students that had made growth! WAY TO GO!
