Thank you to ALL of our GVMS Families for another productive, successful and positive school year! We have done some amazing things this year and could not have done it without your support! From very successful Challenge Days to increasing our technology, to increase in Google Classroom use, to hands on experiments and learning, to our garden growing even more, to the addition of intra-murals, to to over 2,200 Good News Referrals awarded for students, to more new clubs on campus, to MORE VERY successful PTC fundraisers..It's been a great year! We wish all of our outgoing 8th graders success in high school!
We are SUPER excited for our year next year as we are adding more clubs, having TUTORIAL within the school day, to new staff members coming on, to continue to promote the POSITIVE and WONDERFUL things our Vikings do each and every day!

Girls on the Run ended the Spring season of Heart and Sole with a BANG! We have already started planning for another amazing season in the Fall! We will nee at least 2 volunteer life coaches to lead the girls! As you know, all parents have been notified via phone calls that, after this school year, FSUSD will no longer be printing official progress reports or report cards. All parents will need to utilize Parent Portal if they aren't already. Please be sure that you stay on top of Parent Portal so that you know how your student is doing. Please let us know if you have lost your log in or need assistance by calling our office at 646-7000.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 7 beginning at 10 am! Here are a few things to note:
- All 8th graders get 4 tickets ONLY
- Tickets have been signed for by our students and given to them directly! Lost tickets cannot be replaced!
- We are OUT of any additional promotion tickets!
- Rain or shine, we will be outside in the amphitheater
- We ask that all signs, balloons, or anything else blocking the view of other families be left outside or we will hold it in our front office
- If you want to bring your own chair, please do so
- Gates for families promotion will not be opened until 9:30 AM
- Any sibling that attends GVMS and wants to attend promotion, must be signed out by an adult on their emergency card and must also have a ticket!
- All 8th graders are dismissed immediately after promotion ends
Please remember that we have DAILY morning announcements (HERE), where important information is shared with all Vikings! While it is shared over the loud speaker, all teachers project it and hard copies are always available in the front office and the library. Additionally, it is always updated on our website! Please make sure that you (along with your Viking) stay up to date on all information from GVMS. Thank you!
