Summer is on it's way and many parents wonder how to stop the "summer slide"!  Check out THIS ARTICLE to learn three very easy ways to prevent this from happening during the time off from school!

Our Career Day is coming on May 31st and we'd LOVE to have you involved! Please email Mrs. Walker at RochelleW@fsusd.org or fill out this interest form!  Thank you!

Additionally, we are looking for interested people to come hang out with us during our lunches as noon duty supervisors!  If you are interested, please contact Ms. Lucero at ChristineL@fsusd.org to start the process!

We are still in school so PLEASE help us help our students remember the school rules: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.  We are constantly reminding students to please put their phones away, please stop touching each other, please do not make out, please don't wear short shorts, etc. Please help us make the last few days of this school year a success for everyone on our campus!  Thank you!

Green Valley MS is again working with ACCEXS.org to find host families for this summer for our foreign exchange program!  If you are interested in hosting a 7th grade student from China, please check out THIS LINK for more exciting information!  This is a FABULOUS opportunity for your entire family!!

All lost and found will be donated by June 5.  Please make sure to check and see if your student has lost anything.

*Incoming 7th grade students MUST have their current immunization record showing that they received their Tdap booster on or after their 7th birthday.  It MUST be received before ANY 7th grader may pick up their class schedule for 2017-2018.

*All 8th graders MUST have their proof of residency turned into the office before they will be given their 9th grade schedule in FSUSD!  Please turn it in!

*All 8th graders are invited to our school sponsored dance on Friday, June 2 from 6-7:30 in our gym!  It's completely free for our 8th graders!

*8th grade promotion is Thursday, June 8th at 10 AM.  Each 8th grade who is promoting will be receiving 4 tickets THE WEEK OF MAY 30 and gates will open at 9 AM.  Parking will be tight, so you'll want to get here early.  We will open the blacktop for additional parking.  Students are able to wear what they want for promotion (please be appropriate) and keep in mind that they will be in the chairs in the amphitheater.   Balloons, signs, and anything else that can block the view of others will NOT be allowed in the gates.  We will check them at the door and your student can get them on their way out the door.  We appreciate your patience!

*All students that have fines (textbooks or library books that are not destroyed returned) students will not get their promotion/award certificates.  Report cards will still be mailed, however, all fines need to be paid before promotion day.

*Our last family newsletter will be sent on Friday, June 2nd!  For all returning students, you will get an update August 1st for any information that you might need!

We are seeing A LOT of "spring fever" on campus and new "couples" walking around campus.  As a parent, having these conversations with your middle school student can be a tad uncomfortable and have you wondering if you should even be HAVING these conversations.  Click on THIS LINK to get some ideas on questions to ask, conversations to have, and ways to be there for your Viking!

With so many apps and such for social media (we use many of them in our own classrooms!), it's nice to know exactly HOW to use them!  Check out the video above for your guide to Snap Chat and how to use it effectively!
